One of Demex Group’s core values is safety. It is very important to us that every member of our team goes home at the end of the day. We are committed to the health and well being of our team, and any subcontractors who work on our sites. We comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), the provincial law that applies to all construction sites in Ontario.
We have developed a well-rounded, comprehensive safety program. Compliance with this program is a requirement of employment. We believe that safety requires the participation of every last member on the team.
Our safety program is constantly evolving as we evaluate and improve our practices. We rely on every member of our team to identify potential hazards so that we can collaborate on a solution to ensure everyone’s safety. We welcome feedback and suggestions from our employees on how to improve our program.
More than just a safety program, we operate a culture of safety. Our team puts safety into action every day. It goes beyond policies and procedures. All members of our team must be willing to work together and take responsibility for identifying and mitigating risk, ensuring their own and other’ safety. This culture begins at the top. Our managers lead by example. They make certain that each employee has access to the proper safety training and equipment for their position. Our project managers ensure the project plan does not compromise safety for production. Engineers will be consulted as required. As they go about their days, our employees are looking out for one another, identifying potential hazards, and mitigating risk. We value safety!
